Movie Review of DELIVERY
September 28th 2009 03:24
Montgomery Goth seems to be a calm gentle loner on the outside, just trying to overcome a traumatic past. He attempts to put the pieces of his life back together while working as a delivery person at a local pizza joint. But a series of events test “Monty’s” sanity and provoke him into a murderous rage where no one he comes in contact with is safe!
Pros:
-Lead and supporting cast do a really good job with their characters
-Great gore scenes – throat’s slit, chopping of fingers, electrocution, and more!
-I loved the writer/director’s vivid imagination
Cons:
-More topless female’s than I cared to see – but I’m sure most guys will like that.
-Storyline starts off a bit cheesy and corny, but comes together much stronger as movie goes along.
-It’s one worth renting, but I wouldn’t say it’s a must have for anyone’s horror collection.
The story starts on a dark rainy night with the delivery boy approaching his customer’s doorstep. The customer gripes the pizza’s ruined, wet, and he doesn’t want it. He then tries to slam the door in the delivery boy’s face. Well, that was the wrong thing to do I guess! The customer not only doesn’t get his pizza, but also gets a nice slice across the throat for obviously being too rude to our main character, pizza delivery boy, Monty.
Also in the first hour, you see how our main character has been mentally and physically abused most of his life, and how he then eventually snaps into the Pizza Delivery Guy from HELL.
I’d have to say the most gruesome part of the movie – Monty kills someone, and then goes back to the pizza parlor he works for and makes a pizza with their body parts. And I thought people spitting in your food was probably the worst that could ever happen?
Overall, this is a more realistic psychological thriller than I imagined it would be. I feel it also gives a great nod to all fans of slasher and splat pack type movies. I feel better knowing I have an iron screen door between me and anyone who delivers anything to my house too.
